Beacon Journal staff report
The work to begin removing a dam on the Cuyahoga River in Cuyahoga Falls has been delayed again by high water.
Heavy rains overnight made work planned for today unsafe and the work on the Sheraton Mill Dam near Broad Boulevard was postponed until water levels in the river drop.
Officials said they hope to begin the work on removing that dam later this week.
A second dam, the LaFever Powerhouse Dam, will also be removed later.
The city of Cuyahoga Falls got a $1 million grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to remove the two dams to improve water quality on the river.
