Munroe Falls hike — The Akron Metro Parks Hiking Club will meet at 2 p.m. at Brust Park in Munroe Falls for a 5-mile hike on the Bike & Hike Trail. The park is off North Main Street (state Route 91) at the Cuyahoga River. 330-923-6371.

Sippo Lake hike — The Stark County Park District’s Hike-a-Hundred Club will kick off its 2014 hiking with a 2.6-mile trek at Sippo Lake Park. Meet at 1 p.m. at the Exploration Gateway, 5712 12th St. NW, Perry Township. 330-409-8096.

Animal tracks — The Medina County Park District is conducting a walk-in nature program on animal tracks from noon to 5 p.m. at the Susan Hambley Nature Center, 4173 Parschen Blvd., Brunswick. The program will continue from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For all ages. 330-722-9364.

Ice Age 2013 — The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is staging Ice Age 2013, a winter weekend with ice-sculpting demonstrations, live animal shows, sled demonstrations and planetarium shows from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program will continue from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Free with museum admission. Adults are $12; senior citizens, college students and children 3 to 18 are $10; 2 or younger are free. Winter hike — The National Park Service is conducting a winter hike of 5½ miles on the Stanford and Brandywine Gorge trails in the Cuyahoga Valley. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Boston Store Visitor Center off Boston Mills Road in Boston Township. Expect hills and unpaved surfaces. Sturdy shoes are recommended.

Getting-started hike — The National Park Service is presenting a low-intensity, 1-mile round trip, getting-started hike from 2 to 3 p.m. Meet at the Ira Trailhead off Riverview Road north of Ira Road in Cuyahoga Falls. Wear comfortable shoes and bring drinking water.

Puppet show — Metro Parks, Serving Summit County, is staging a puppet show on New Year’s resolutions at 1:30 p.m. at Seiberling Nature Realm, 1828 Smith Road, Akron. 330-865-8065 or www.summitmetroparks.org.

Folk jam — The University of Mount Union’s John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center is hosting a folk jam at 2 p.m. There will also be a nature walk at 2 p.m. The center is on Dan Street in Washington Township. 330-823-7487.
