A look at the Paris skyline from the Musee d'Orsay, known for its French impressionist paintings. It is housed in an old railroad museum.
The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 and dominates the Paris skyline. There are three platforms for visitors.
The Golden Dome Church was built in 1676 and includes a gilded dome that is 351 feet high. It was originally envisioned as a royal tomb.
The Seine River is one of the dominant features in Paris. There are 26 bridges over the Seine.
The Arc de Triomph was first proposed by Naopleon in 1805 after one of his greatest military victories. The 164-foot-high acr was not completed until 1836. It dominates the Champs-Elysees.
The Louvre is described as the largest museum and the most-visited museum in the world.It is a one-time fortress and palace. It houses 380,000 objects and has 15 acres of display space.
The galleries in the Louve include paintings on the ceilings.
Cathdral de Notre-Dame sits on island in the Seine River and dates to 1163. The stately Gothic church gets 30,000 visitors a day or 13 million a year.
