Birthday. Barberton will celebrate its 125th birthday with a weekend full of fun. There will be a free community picnic from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. There will be free hot dogs, chips and a drink available in the gazebo. There will be games, a family canoe race and a band around Lake Anna. Saturday’s events include the Jeep Davis 5K run and walk, a fishing derby, performers and other activities with fireworks at 10 p.m. The city’s Labor Day parade will step off at 10 a.m. Monday.
