Brookside Country Club was the scene of Fashion Fortissimo 2007 Saturday afternoon in Canton. Margaret Cirone chaired the event on behalf of the Symphony League of Canton, with funds benefiting Canton Symphony Orchestra education programs. Joy Silverhart was co-chair.
Strolling violinist Bohdan Subchak provided background music as guests looked at an array of beautiful baskets that took up the entire sunroom. Joy Dingman sold raffle tickets so guests could chose their favorite baskets. Looking over the display were Alma Schumann, Anne Flanagan, Donna Leibensperger, Sharon Luntz, Pat Parker, Linda Ganser and Jo Lindamood. Mary Lou Swan and Peggy Fitzmaurice sold tickets for a 50/50 raffle.
Decorations chair Elsie Oelslager said the beautiful calla lily centerpieces that graced each table were from Seifert's Flower Mill. Dolores Meier made sure everyone was seated for the sold-out event. Janice Contie, Virginia Oliveri, Sheila Fisher, Grace Ewing, Gail Rownd and Michele Mertes were among those enjoying the delicious luncheon; Judy Scheurer introduced her daughters, Cricket Russell and Leslie von Lehe.
Rose DeGraaf welcomed everyone to the fashion event, and thanked sponsors and the community for the gift baskets. Canton native Toni Carbone Gardner presented a showing of the latest fall fashions from Fashions by Balisimo of Redondo Beach, Calif.
