The Fabulous Food Show is Friday through Sunday at the I-X Center in Cleveland and a star-studded lineup of chefs will be in town.
This year’s show features Cleveland’s Michael Symon, Guy Fieri, Anne Burrell, Jeff Mauro, Sara Moulton, Jacques Pépin and his daughter Claudine Pépin and Mary Ann Esposito.
There will be eight cooking stages hosting 100 demonstrations over the three days.
Special events include the Great Sugardale BAC-ON, where finalists will cook with bacon, and former White House chef Sam Morgante hosting Taste for the Troops, an armed forces cooking competition.
Admission also includes the By Hand Fine Art & Craft Fair. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $30, $25 with advance purchase.

Winter market dates set
The Countryside Conservancy has announced the dates for its winter farmers markets, which are held inside Old Trail School, 2315 Ira Road, Bath Township, on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon.
The winter market dates are Nov. 16, Dec. 8 and 22, Jan. 26, Feb. 9 and 23, March 9 and 23, and April 6 and 27.
Also hosting an off-season market this year is Green, at the John Torok Community/Senior Center, on Massillon Road next to Green Fire Station No. 1.
The Green markets will be Nov. 13 and Dec. 11, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. both days. So far, 13 vendors have signed up, according to Kim Goodhart of the city’s Parks and Recreation Division.
Club to host Chinese Dinner
Members of the Hospitality Club at the University of Akron are hosting a traditional Chinese Dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Nov. 17, in the Crystal Room Bistro, inside Gallucci Hall, 200 E. Exchange St., Akron.
The meal includes assorted dumplings, plus four entrees: kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli, moo shu pork, and ma po tofu stir-fry.
Cost is $35. Proceeds will help club members pay for educational trips.
Pastry class for a cause
Community Legal Aid’s Young Professionals Group is hosting a cooking class fundraiser on Friday.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Door Cafe & Bakery, 1970 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, where owner Michael Bruno will give a lesson in pastry baking, followed by dinner.
Tickets are $25 and must be purchased ahead of time through Community Legal Aid. Tickets are not being sold at the Blue Door and will not be sold at the door on Friday. Legal Aid will receive $5 from each reservation.

Fleming’s to host dinners
Fleming’s Prime Steak House & Wine Bar in Copley Township is hosting two special dinners this month, one for wine lovers, the other for Scotch drinkers.
At 6:30 p.m. Friday, Fleming’s will host a wine dinner featuring reds from Orin Swift Cellars. The dinner costs $100 plus tax and tip, and includes three courses and dessert, each of which is paired with an Orin Swift wine.
At 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17, a four-course meal will be built around Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch, including 12- 15- and 18-year-old single malts. The meal is $95 plus tax and tip.

Get Happy, get pizza
Akron is getting its first Happy’s Pizza location at 1400 S. Arlington Road.
It’s the 13th Ohio restaurant for the chain, which was founded in Detroit in 1996. Other locations are in Canton, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo and more are planned as part of a nationwide expansion of the chain.
Happy’s offers more than 200 menu items and is known for its ribs and chicken as well as its pizza. The store delivers within a five-mile radius; phone 330-786-9999.
