The Akron and Canton health departments have scheduled free H1N1 vaccine clinics for people at higher risk for developing complications from the flu.
The Canton City Health Department is providing flu vaccines for adults from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Stark County Fairgrounds, 305 Wertz Ave. NW, Canton.
The Akron Health Department will be offering free vaccine at these clinics:
• 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 4, Robinson school, 1156 Fourth Ave.
• 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 5, Robinson school.
• 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 11, Voris school, 1885 Glenmount Ave.
• 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 12, Voris school.
The vaccine is limited to people in high-risk groups, including pregnant women, people who live with or care for babies younger than 6 months, all people ages 6 months to 24 years, people 25 to 64 with chronic medical conditions, and medical and emergency workers.
Children 9 and younger need a second dose four weeks after getting their first dose for full immunity.
