Donzell's Flower & Garden Center is offering Saturday gardening seminars designed to get you growing once spring arrives.
The topics are:
• Feb. 7: Have No Fear of Orchids by Barb Ford of the Akron Orchid Society.
• Feb. 14: It Starts with a Tiny Seed, a program on starting plants from seed, by Donzell's grower Dan Dubnicka.
• Feb. 21: Backyard Bird Watching by Joyce Pelz of the Akron Audubon Society.
• Feb. 28: Houseplants: More Than Decor by Beth Minger of the Donzell's greenhouse staff.
• March 14: Spring Floral Showcase, a demonstration of faux floral accents by floral designer Mary Eagle.
• March 21: Bonsai Basics by Dale Cochoy of the Akron Bonsai Society.
• March 28: Vegetable Gardening by Lee Paulson, master gardener.
All seminars start at 11 a.m. The programs are free, but reservations are requested at 330-724-0550, ext. 110.

Free home workshops
Free home-weatherization workshops are being offered to groups around the state.
The workshops are conducted by the Office of the Ohio Consumers' Counsel and are available to audiences of 30 or more. They're designed to help Ohioans lower their utility bills using low-cost or no-cost methods.

• Researching Your Antiques, 1 p.m. today, Western Reserve Historical Society, 10825 East Blvd., Cleveland. • RemodelOhio Show, opens Thursday through Feb. 1, I-X Center, 6200 Riverside Drive, Cleveland. Show presented by Professional Remodelers of Ohio. Hours: noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. next Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 1.
