The EZ-Fit Safety Gate Adapter lets you install a child-safety gate in a stairway without drilling into the woodwork.
The adapter, from the Georgia company 'boutKIDS Inc., is a wood support that's secured to a banister post with both foam tape and straps. The support then becomes the surface to which a pressure-mounted or hardware-mounted gate can be attached.
The product won an iParenting Media Award in the safety category.
The adapter is sold through a number of online sites, catalogs and stores, which are listed on its Web site, http://www.boutkids.com. The adapter can also be ordered directly from the company on the Web site for $19.99. Mary Beth Breckenridge
