38th Annual Sugartown Express — 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Quaker Station, 135 S. Broadway, Akron. The event includes a silent auction, raffles, a wide assortment of craft beer and wine sampling and entertainment. Funds raised will benefit critical research, educational programs and services, and advocacy efforts for the 25.6 million people living with diabetes — type 1 and type 2 — including more than 330,000 individuals in Northeast Ohio. Women of WITAN’s the Imagine Ball — 6 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel, Fairlawn. An evening of dining and dancing with a silent auction and the opportunity to bid on two getaways. The event benefits WITAN’s Community Project Fund, which provides grant money and allocations for numerous nonprofit organizations and services. An angel-themed auction to benefit the establishment of an interactive art education area at the proposed Akron Children’s Museum. The Nagel Art Auction will include silent, live and roaming bidding options. Presented by the Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation. The Akron Zoo 27th Annual Snow Bowl — 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m. Feb. 8 at Stonehedge, 580 E. Cuyahoga Falls Ave., Akron. Snow Bowl is a friendly, target-score bowling competition for local companies and organizations. Each five-person team will predict its score prior to the event. The team with an ending score closest to its predicted score will win. The cost per team is $300 and includes three games of bowling, the company’s name at Stonehedge, shoe and ball rental and T-shirts for each team member.
