Everyone who’s old enough remembers what he or she was doing when President Kennedy was shot. Was your situation unusual?
We’re looking for noteworthy stories about our readers’ experiences connected with the assassination. For example, maybe you were working at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on the day of the shooting. Maybe you stood in line to view the president’s casket in the Capitol or were among the crowd lining Pennsylvania Avenue on the day of his funeral. Perhaps you served in the Marines with Lee Harvey Oswald.
Send a brief recounting of your experience by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to Mary Beth Breckenridge, Akron Beacon Journal, P.O. Box 640, Akron, OH 44309-0640. Include your name, street address and a phone number where we can reach you during the day. We will not publish your address or phone number, but we must have that information in case we need to follow up.
You may be chosen to be interviewed for an article as part of our commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s Nov. 22, 1963, death. We’ll also publish some of the most interesting responses online.
