People Helping People is a list of charitable causes in our area that need donations or volunteers. The Dane Foundation is seeking people to decorate and donate miniature Christmas trees for its annual Kandy Kane Xpress Holiday Festival. Participants in the Mini Tree Decorating Contest decorate 2-foot trees to be displayed at the festival and sold in a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the foundation, which assists people with disabilities.
The contest has three categories: business/organizational, individuals/families and youth. Each entrant pays $25 and receives a tree to adorn. Entry forms are available at the Green Parks and Recreation Department, 1755 Town Park Blvd., and www.TheDaneFoundation.org.
Decorated trees must be dropped off by 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at the parks and recreation department or the Dane Foundation’s office, 20 Pierce Ave., Cuyahoga Falls.
The trees will be displayed before and during the festival, 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at Akron General Health & Wellness Center, 1940 Town Park Blvd., Green. They’ll also be on display at a wine and cheese preview from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28. Admission to the preview is free with the donation of a new bath towel.

Aladdin Foundation of Akron, 111 W. Center St., Akron, OH 44308, fulfills the wishes of terminally or chronically ill children in Northeast Ohio. It focuses on everyday products that improve quality of life and on services for the children and their families.
The foundation is requesting monetary donations to buy grocery store gift cards for families whose children are in Akron Children’s Hospital over Thanksgiving or Christmas. Checks may be mailed.
