Uniontown mother, son injured in crash

PERRY TWP.: A Uniontown woman was critically injured Friday and her 4-year-old son hurt in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 30.

Renae Miller, 26, was eastbound between the Richville Drive and Whipple Avenue exits when her car went off the road at 10:56 a.m., the Canton post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reported. The patrol said Miller initially drove off the left side of the road into the median, returned to the roadway and swerved across both lanes before going off the right side and hitting trees.

Miller, of Oaklynn Street, Lake Township, was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said. She was taken to Aultman Hospital in Canton. Her son, Joshua Jeavons, was belted and suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, the patrol said.

Witnesses told the patrol Miller was driving erratically before the crash, but no drugs or alcohol are suspected.

Patrol seeks escaped patient

SAGAMORE HILLS TWP.: A patient with a history of violence escaped from the Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare facility Friday evening.

The patient, Kyle E. Bunts, had ground privileges when he fled, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported. He was last seen about 7:15 p.m.

Bunts had been committed to the facility after being found not guilty by reason of insanity on aggravated arson and aggravated assault charges. He set fire to three homes in 2003.

Bunts is white, 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing beige pants and a beige polo shirt over a beige long-sleeve shirt.

Because of his history of domestic violence and improper handling of a firearm, the patrol considers him armed and dangerous. Anyone with information should call the patrol's Canton post, 330-433-6200.
