A Tallmadge man picked the wrong place and the wrong time to pretend to be a police officer.
John Koza, 27, has been charged with impersonating a police officer and theft after he was arrested Tuesday night in an Akron bar.
According to Lt. Rick Edwards, police spokesman, Koza allegedly flashed a stolen police badge when he tried to use a stolen credit card at the Brooklands Cafe in Akron.
It is alleged that Koza had stolen a wallet belonging to an Akron police officer, which contained the cop's badge and credit cards.
Edwards said someone at the bar recognized the name on the credit card Koza attempted to use and called police.
