Two other central committee candidates in close races pay for recounts

The Summit County elections board did automatic recounts Thursday in three county Republican Party central committee races that resulted in ties.
The board previously conducted coin tosses to determine winners in each. And each of the recounts showed the same results, so the coin-toss victories will stand.
The winners were: Cuyahoga Falls 8C, Donna Kaiser over Susan L. Truby; Norton 4B, Eva Conklin over Jonathan Scott Hubble; and Twinsburg 1C, Carolyn Murrock over Mark Reilly. Kaiser was a candidate filed by the New Summit County Republicans the group seeking to unseat county party chairman Alex Arshinkoff and Murrock was submitted by the county party. Conklin and Hubble were both filed by the party.
Those three were the only races in the March 4 primary close enough to trigger automatic recounts.
Candidates in two other close central committee races have requested recounts, which will be done at 8 a.m. Monday. The candidates will pay a $50 fee for the recounts.
The recounts will be done in: Cuyahoga Falls 6D, Grace Ellen Jensen now leads Corinne Six by one vote; and Akron 8C Ron Kopp is ahead of John Frank by one vote.
Six and Kopp were filed by the New Summit County Republicans, while the other candidates were submitted by the party. The board will certify the results of the recounts in a meeting at 9 a.m. Monday.
The central committee will meet April 21 to decide the county party's leadership.
