Man pleads guilty
in Skybus gun threat
COLUMBUS: A Northeast Ohio man who boarded a Skybus Airlines flight in January and threatened other passengers by suggesting he had a gun has pleaded guilty to interfering with a flight crew member.
Todd Tornstrom of Chesterland faces up to 20 years in a federal prison. He pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in Columbus.
Prosecutors say Tornstrom had been drinking. Once in the air, he told flight crew members that he was a Transportation Security Administration agent and that he had a gun. The pilot decided to return to Columbus after Tornstrom couldn't produce an identification badge.
The 35-year-old Tornstrom didn't have a gun. His attorneys say Tornstrom's talk of having a loaded gun was just talk.
Tornstrom, who owns an asphalt company in the Cleveland area, remains free pending sentencing.
