Thirty-four racers competed Saturday in the eighth annual North Summit Soap Box Derby at Derby Downs.
One racer from each of the three divisions advanced to next month's All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship.
From the stock division, Allison Bates, 13, of Twinsburg, will represent North Summit at the national race.
From super stock, Madison Chickos, 12, of Twinsburg, placed first and Kevin Hoffman, 14, of Stow, took first in the masters division.
The runners-up were: Laura Geer, 12, of Tallmadge, in the stock division; Ashleigh Groves, 11, of Hudson, in super stock; and Monica Cape, 16, of Stow, in the masters division.
The All-American Soap Box Derby race this year will be held July 26.
