Businessman faces three sex charges

A Medina businessman, who police accuse of offering special employment benefits in exchange for sex, will be arraigned in Municipal Court on Monday.

Paul D. Matthews, 47, of Barrington Drive, was arrested Friday on two counts of sexual imposition and one count of soliciting sexual activity for hire.

Matthews, vice president of operations for Facultatieve Technologies, did not return a call seeking comment. The company specializes in cremators and incineration equipment.

Lt. Robert Starcher said two female workers at the company complained to police July 5 that Matthews groped them and offered to trade days off for sex.

The women told police that Matthews has been making sexual remarks since they were hired and didn't stop until they made a police report.

The women have worked for the company between one and two years.
