Big Brothers & Sisters of Portage County will benefit from the ''One Night Only, Cleveland's Best Comic Show'' at 8 p.m. at the Improv Comedy Club & Restaurant, 2000 Sycamore St., Cleveland. Area comics, including Chad Zumock, will perform. $6 advance, $10 at the door. Call 330-296-6655.

PetFix of Northeast Ohio will benefit from the Fixations Green & Gorgeous fundraiser to be held from 6-10 p.m. at The Club at Hillbrook, 14800 Hillbrook Drive in Chagrin Falls. Eco-friendly girl's night out features fashion, mini-makeovers, massages, silent auction, raffle. All proceeds benefit the PetFix mobile, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Tickets start at $85. Make-A-Wish Foundation will benefit from the sales of the novel November Reign by Hudson resident Stephen Beirne, 17, at a book-signing reception from noon to 2 p.m. at the Learned Owl Book Shop, 204 N. Main St., Hudson. Beirne was undergoing treatment for a chordoma tumor when he wrote the book, and Liz Murphy, the shop's owner, worked with Make-A-Wish to have HarperCollins publish the book.
ETC School of Musical Arts will host its third annual ETC & Friends Golf Classic at Sunny Hill Golf Course, 3734 Sunny Brook Road, Kent. 18 holes with cart, continental breakfast, lunch, steak dinner, beverages, goodie bag and prize drawing. $80.
