CHIPPEWA LAKE: Medina County authorities are searching for a 12-year-old girl who has been missing since 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Courtney Olexa of Brookshire Drive is a special needs child who has a history of running away and can become easily disoriented and confused, authorities said. Foul play is not suspected.
Her parents reported her missing at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
She was last seen in the area of Chippewa Road west of Lake Road.
Courtney is 4-foot-8 and weighs about 100 pounds. She has auburn hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a green and white shirt, green shorts and white tennis shoes.
The search has included county sheriff's deputies, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, local fire and rescue workers, and county park employees. The patrol also has used its night-vision helicopter.
Anyone with information should call the Sheriff's Office at 330-725-6631.
