The law firm Brouse McDowell announced the appointment of Karen Lefton as a partner in the Labor and Employment Practice Group. She comes to the firm from the Beacon Journal Publishing Co., where she was general counsel. Karen D. Butera also joined the firm as an associate in the Commercial and Litigation Groups.
Bostik Inc.
Robert McNamara was promoted to director of sales and marketing for the company's Construction & Distribution Division. He oversees sales and marketing functions and personnel for the Bostik C&D Division, including its Twinsburg facilities.
Ken-Tool
Rick Homman was named director of operations for the Akron manufacturer. Leonard Broyles joined as customer service manager.
Akron Brass Co.
Cory Berglin joined the company as district sales manager for the Minnesota, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota market areas. He will be based in Minnesota, and will work with Akron distributors to service a territory of municipal fire departments. Kent Clasen will assume the sales territory of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Western Kentucky. Also, David Hradek will add Michigan to his current territory of Ohio, West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky.
Hattie Larlham
Ingrid M. Kanics joined the organization as director of therapy services. Hattie Larlham is a nonprofit organization that provides services to 1,400 people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
SS&G Healthcare Services
These employees were added to the Akron office as billing specialists: Sharon Gavala of Strongsville; Maria Main of Akron; and Lora Milano of Akron.
OMNI Orthopaedics
Vince T. Wake, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained spine specialist, joined the medical staff. He treats spinal conditions including degenerative problems, deformity and trauma. Daniel A. Charlick, M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained foot and ankle specialist, joined the medical staff. He specializes in foot and ankle and lower extremity surgery with expertise in foot and ankle deformities, arthritis, diabetic foot conditions, and sports-related foot and ankle problems.

Noelle Scott was promoted to art director at the Akron agency. Sara Myers was promoted to assistant account executive, and will work with large brands. Becki Cooper joined as public relations coordinator, and will provide direct support to the public relations account services team. Nikki Andrick joined as assistant account executive, and is responsible for the daily contact between the agency and multiple accounts. Zachary Linquist joined as director of interactive media, and will provide directional leadership and participation in the planning and development of Web-based marketing initiatives.
