Warrants for two others in robbery at gas station

One man has been arrested and warrants have been issued for two others in the June shooting of an Iraq war veteran during a robbery at a South Akron gas station.
Akron police said an anonymous tip led to the arrest of Brent Nichols, 26, of Akron, charged with complicity to commit aggravated robbery.
At the same time, they issued warrants for the arrest of Breshaun Nichols, 20, of Akron, for attempted aggravated murder and aggravated robbery, and Denny Andrews, 27, of Akron, for complicity to commit aggravated murder.
Richard, 24, who served with the Marines in Iraq, was shot during a robbery at the gas station at 1178 S. Arlington St. on June 13.
Richard, who did not want his last name used, had received a Purple Heart after being injured from a rocket-propelled grenade in Afghanistan. He also served in Iraq. He was on his way to work when he was robbed and shot at the gas station.
''I hope they get the other two as soon as possible,'' he said Thursday.
He is still recovering from being shot through the wrist, abdomen and pelvis during the robbery. He was hospitalized from the morning of the shooting until July 4.
It has been a good week for the Marine, an East High School graduate who works for Sharon Stairs.
On Tuesday night, Mary Sullivan of Cuyahoga Falls, along with a group of West Bath Road neighbors who made a quilt of handprints, presented the quilt to Richard in a ceremony at the VFW Post 12 in Cuyahoga Falls.
On hand for the ceremony were U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton, D-Copley; Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Robart, a Republican who served in the Marines; and Falls Councilwoman Kathy Hummel, D-at-large.
Twenty-two donors contributed food and other items in conjunction with the quilt presentation, Sullivan said.
A fund has been set up to assist Richard with medical bills. Donations can be made at all Charter One banks in the name of Richard the wounded Marine.
Mary Sullivan also is collecting new white V-neck T shirts in sizes extra large and extra-extra large, white briefs size 36 and up, and white cotton socks to donate to wounded veterans. To donate, call her at 330-926-1618.
