Chippewa teachers authorize strike notice if needed

By Beacon Journal staff

DOYLESTOWN: The teachers' union at Chippewa Local Schools voted unanimously this morning to authorize its bargaining team to issue a 10-day strike notice if needed.

State law requires a 10-day notice of a strike.

A strike date has not been set and both sides will meet at noon on Thursday.

The Chippewa Education Association, which represents about 84 certified employees, has been working without a contract since July 1.
