Military news
• Ross A. Krajewski, son of Kenneth and Nancy Krajewski of Macedonia, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after completing the Army ROTC program and graduating with a bachelor's degree from Marquette University. He is a 2004 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School.
• Navy Seaman Recruit Ashley McCourt, daughter of Angelina Becker of Akron, completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. She is a 2008 graduate of Coventry High School.
• Army Pvt. Morgan M. Ake, son of Ruth Ake of Cuyahoga Falls, graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is a 1999 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School.
• Air National Guard Airman Brooke A. Dragon, daughter of Connie Harper of Minerva, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. She is a 2006 graduate of Minerva High School.
• Air Force Airman William H. Bryan, son of Michael Bryan of Massillon, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2007 graduate of Perry High School.
• Air Force Airman William W. Paradis, son of William Paradis of Brecksville, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2005 graduate of Cog Academy, Copley.
• Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Cashay L. Moorer, daughter of Christ and Deborah Moorer of Copley, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. She is a 2007 graduate of Copley High School.
• Air Force 1st Lt. Robert Davidson, son of Bob and Jan Davidson of Uniontown, was awarded the 2008 William H. Tunner Award for being a member of the most outstanding airlift crew in the Air Force.
• Air Force Airman Christopher G. Russo, son of Joseph Russo of Sagamore Hills, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2005 graduate of Nordonia High School.
• Army National Guard Pvt. Allyson Ann Harrington, daughter of Dewey and Paula Harrington of North Canton, graduated from basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. She is a senior at Hoover High School in North Canton.
• Air Force Airman Ronald Smith III, son of Elizabeth Hubbard and Ronald Smith Jr., of Akron, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2006 graduate of Coventry High School.
• Air Force Airman Justin E. Conklin, son of Nancy Smith of Mineral City, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2004 graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School.
• Air Force Airman Steve G. Doubler, son of Deborah Doubler of Hinckley, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2006 graduate of Brunswick High School.
• Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Travis J. Seich, son of James Seich of Perrysburg and Myrna Seich of Massillon, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2006 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, Fremont.
• Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Sean Anderson, son of Dean and Lisa Griffin of Navarre, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2007 graduate of Fairless High School, Navarre.
• Army Reserve Pvt. Frank J. Hunnell, son of Carl Hunnell of Cuyahoga Falls, graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is a 1988 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School.
• Army Pvt. Thomas W. Dies, son of Sue Dies of Wadsworth, graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is a 2005 graduate of Wadsworth High School.
