Monday
The March of Dimes 10th annual Akron Signature Chefs Auction will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Quaker Square Inn at the University of Akron, 135 S. Broadway, downtown Akron. Local chefs will offer dishes while guests view auction items. 216-643-3330.

Tuesday
A benefit concert will be held at 8 p.m. at Northside, 111 N. Main St., Akron. Music of the late Townes Van Zandt will be performed and memorabilia will be on display and for sale. Funds raised will benefit Van Zandt's friend Wrecks Bell, who lost his home to Hurricane Ike.

Thursday
The Northeastern Ohio Celebrity Luncheon Club will meet at noon at Prestwick Country Club, 3751 Glen Eagles Blvd., Green. Speaker will be Jerry Lucas. $25; proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. For reservations, call Katie Cavalier, 330-699-3991 or 330-492-4180.

The Community Health Center and Our Lady of the Elms School will benefit from the 2008 Mile of Quarters fundraiser to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 4015 Medina Road, Bath Township. Children and families can enjoy free activities including trick-or-treat throughout the store, crafts, face painting, and more. Saturday
The Dancing Wheels Company & School will hold the 28th annual Casino Royale fundraiser at 7:30 p.m. at the Hermit Club, 1629 Dodge Court, PlayhouseSquare in Cleveland. Main St., Hudson. Music by the Mike Petrone Jazz Quartet, appetizers from executive chef Shawn Monday, desserts from pastry chef Kimberly Horner and a silent auction. $125; $75 goes to the charity. Heaven Can Wait-Rescue & Adoptions will be taking photos of pets in costume for a $5 donation from noon to 4 p.m. at the annual Halloween party at 9425 Olde Eight Road, Northfield.
