Here are plans for leaf pickups in the Akron area:
SUMMIT COUNTY
Akron — Place loose leaves in street no more than 2 feet from curb the day before collection. No branches or debris.
The upcoming collection dates are:
• Ward 1, Nov. 4 and Dec. 2.
• Ward 2, Nov. 1 and 29.
• Ward 3, Tuesday and Nov. 21.
• Ward 4, Saturday and Nov. 15.
• Ward 5, Monday and Nov. 19.
• Ward 6, Thursday and Nov. 11.
• Ward 7, Friday and Nov. 13.
• Ward 8, Wednesday and Nov. 24.
• Ward 9, Nov. 6 and Dec. 5.
• Ward 10, Nov. 8.
Barberton — Leaf pickup starts Monday. Leaves must be raked into a row and placed in the street no more than 2 feet from the curb or edge of street without obstructing traffic before the day of scheduled pickup.
The schedule for streets without curbs:
• Ward 1, Monday-Oct. 31.
• Ward 5, Nov. 3-7.
• Ward 2, Nov. 10-14 (except Nov. 11).
• Ward 3, Nov. 17-21.
• Ward 6, Nov. 24-26.
• Ward 4, Dec. 1-5.
For curbed streets, residents should follow the street sweeper schedule. The sweeper will be pushing the leaves from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Cars parked on the street during those hours will receive tickets. The areas are: east side/Austin Estates, Sunday; north end, Monday; near west side, Tuesday; far west side, Wednesday; and downtown, Thursday.
Residents may also take bagged leaves to Mulch Makers of Ohio, 3307 Clark Mill Road, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents must dump leaves out of the bags. Bagged leaves can be brought to the following drop-off areas: Newton Park, Terrace Garden and Tuscora Park. Leaves may either be dumped into loose piles or left in bags.
Bath Township — Place bagged leaves with regular trash.
Boston Heights — Leaves placed at front of property will be picked up once a week throughout the fall.
Clinton — No pickup.
Copley Township — No pickup.
Coventry Township — Drop off bagged leaves only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 and 22, in the east parking lot off Daisy Avenue at Cottage Grove Park.
Cuyahoga Falls — Rake leaves to the curb by 7 a.m. the day of pickup as outlined by schedule mailed to all city households.
Fairlawn — Bagged leaves will be picked up every Monday through Nov. 24. Branches and debris can be taken to the recycling center, 3300 Fairlawn Service Drive.
Green — Drop off leaves behind 5383 Massillon Road from noon to 5:45 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 1. Starting Nov. 3, the hours will be noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Bags will be emptied and returned.
Hudson — Leaf collection runs through the last week in November. Leaves should be raked near the street edge but not in the street before 7 a.m. on Monday of the scheduled pickup week. Residents on private streets or within private condominium developments should place their leaves along the public street nearest to their private street entrance.
Leaves will be picked up in each of four quadrants according to the following schedule: northeast (north of state Route 303, east of state Route 91), weeks of Nov. 3 and 17; southeast (south of Route 303, east of Route 91), weeks of Oct. 27, Nov. 10 and 24; southwest (south of Route 303, west of Route 91), weeks of Nov. 3 and 17; northwest (north of Route 303, west of Route 91), weeks of Oct. 27, Nov. 10 and 24.
Lakemore — No pickup.
Macedonia — Place loose leaves no more than 10 feet from edge of road and not in the street. Rake leaves in long rows and at least 5 feet away from hydrants, mailboxes and light posts. No brush or yard debris. Leaf collection begins Monday. Deadline for putting leaves out is Nov. 24.
Mogadore — Leaves raked to the curb but not into the street will be picked up throughout the fall. No branches or debris.
Munroe Falls — Loose leaves in front of property will be removed Monday
through Dec. 5. Street schedules for pickup will be sent to residents, or call 330-688-7491.
New Franklin — Drop off leaves Nov. 1 and 15, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at B-Sharp Property Maintenance, 6161 S. Main St. Leaves, grass and small branches 5 feet or less accepted. Bagged leaves will be dumped out and the bags returned. Proof of residency required.
Northfield — Rake leaves to the curb in long windrows, no further than 5 feet from the edge of the roadway but not in the street. Leaf pickup will be Nov. 5-25, starting in Ward C and then Ward B on the east side of state Route 8 and then in Wards A and D on the west side of Route 8. There will be at least one pass by each home.
Northfield Center — For residents with curbed gutter drains, place loose leaves 3 feet from the road. Residents with ditches should place leaves between ditch and home, not between the ditch and the road. Weather permitting, there will be three passes on every road through Dec. 13. Norton — Yard debris, including leaves and twigs, can be delivered to Mulch Makers of Ohio, 3307 Clark Mill Road, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Peninsula — Rake leaves to curb and they will be picked up randomly until the end of November.
Reminderville — Leaves left in piles on tree lawn will be picked up throughout the month of November.
Richfield — Rake leaves to the front of the property, but not into the street. Leaves will be picked up randomly throughout the fall.
Richfield Township — No pickup.
Sagamore Hills Township — Bagged leaves will be picked up on regular trash days.
Silver Lake — Rake leaves to the curb. Small branches permitted. Crews will pass each street once a week through Nov. 26. Keep limbs and leaves in separate piles.
Springfield Township — Obtain a permit at Town Hall, 2459 Canfield Road, to be eligible for disposing yard debris at Earth'n Wood, 2436 S. Arlington St., through Nov. 30. Proof of residency required for permit.
Stow — Rake leaves to the tree lawn in loose piles or next to roadside ditch. Pickup as follows:
• District 1 (north of Graham Road and east of state Route 91), Monday-Nov. 1 and Nov. 17-22.
• District 2 (north of Graham Road and west of Route 91), Nov. 3-8 and Nov. 24-29.
• District 3 (south of Graham Road), Nov. 10-15 and Dec. 1-6.
Tallmadge — Loose leaves at road edge will be picked up twice on each street. City will be divided into three sections for pickup. Call 330-633-5130 for specific schedule.
Twinsburg — Rake leaves to tree lawn or edge of property. No twigs or grass clippings. Random pickups through December.
MEDINA COUNTY
Countywide — The Central Processing Facility, 8700 Lake Road in Westfield Township, accepts all yard waste at no charge from county residents. Leaves must be dumped from plastic bags at the facility. Branches restricted to 4 inches in diameter and 12 feet in length. Open 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
Granger Township — No pickup.
Lodi — Rake leaves to edge of road for pickup through Nov. 26.
Medina — Bagged leaves will be picked up on regular trash days. Rake loose leaves on tree lawn next to curb in a windrow or as close to city sidewalks as possible for scheduled pickups starting Monday. No grass, branches or debris. Call 330-725-LEAF for schedule.
Montville Township — No pickup.
Seville — Leaves should be raked into a row or piled within 4 feet of the curb or pavement. No branches. They will picked up each Saturday through Nov. 22.
Wadsworth — Leaves will be picked up at curb. Loose leaves should be placed on tree lawn, not raked into the street. Do not mix yard debris in with leaves. City trucks will make five to 10 passes through city.
Wadsworth Township — No pickup.
PORTAGE COUNTY
Brimfield Township — No pickup.
Franklin Township — Rake loose leaves to curb by 7 a.m. on Monday of your collection week. Eastern Twin Lakes and Brady Lake area, Nov. 10-14 and Dec. 1-6; western Twin Lakes, southeast Franklin Township and Kent Park, Monday through Oct. 31 and Nov. 17-21; Franklin Hills and northwest Franklin Township, Nov. 3-7 and Nov. 24-29.
Kent — Bagged and loose leaves raked to the curb will be picked up through mid-December.
Ravenna — Rake leaves to the curb. Pickups will begin Monday with Ward 1, then proceed in order to Wards 2, 3 and 4 and back again until early December.
Streetsboro — Rake leaves to curb or road edge, away from ditches and mailboxes. Pickups start Monday and proceed until late November.
Suffield Township — Drop off leaves at designated location at 558 Etter Road. Only leaves will be accepted. No trash, limbs or brush, and they leaves must be removed from any bags.
STARK COUNTY
Canal Fulton — Rake loose leaves to edge of street. Pickups through the fall Mondays through Fridays. No rubbish or yard waste.
Canton — Bagged leaves placed at curbside will be picked up on regular trash days Nov. 1-30.
Hartville — Place loose leaves in front of home, no more than 3 feet from the road. No grass, branches or debris. Pickups through Nov. 30.
Jackson Township — Drop off leaves at South Park on Fulton Drive, next to Jackson High School, during daylight hours every day. Brush and branches OK. Bags must be removed. For curbside pickup, leaves in recyclable paper bags only will be picked up Nov. 1-30.
Lake Township — Take unbagged leaves and yard debris to the Service Center, 1505 Midway St., from dawn until dusk each day.
Lawrence Township — Place leaves curbside in open, 30-gallon, recyclable yard waste bags Monday through Friday, Nov. 1-30. No other bags collected. Also, unbagged grass, leaves, shrubs, stumps and branches will be accepted at County Outpost, 12649 Orrville St. S.W., 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Massillon — All leaves must be bagged and placed curbside. Pickups randomly Monday through Nov. 28. Residents may also drop off bagged leaves 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays at the City Garage, 401 Walnut Road S.W.
North Canton — Place leaves in paper bags (for recycling) for pickup on regular trash days Tuesday through Dec. 5. City will offer free leaf bags (up to 25 per household while supplies last) at the Civic Center, 845 W. Maple St., noon to 6 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
Plain Township — Drop off leaves, branches and other yard waste at Fire Station No. 4, 2855 Easton St. N.E., 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Dec. 1 (closed Nov. 24-28) or Warstler Brothers Landscaping, 4125 Salway Ave. N.W., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. No plastic bags; paper bags permitted.
WAYNE COUNTY
Creston — Loose leaves left at curb or roadside will be picked up during November.
Doylestown — Loose leaves will be picked up Monday-Wednesday east of Portage Street and Thursday-Friday west of Portage through the end of November.
