MANAGED-CARE PLANS AVAILABLE
People covered by Medicare may choose to enroll in optional Medicare managed-care plans to help to pay for their medical expenses and, in many cases, their prescription medicines.
According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, these are the available Medicare managed-care plans in Summit County in 2009:
• AARP MedicareComplete (UnitedHealthcare) — Three options, including two with drug coverage. No monthly premium. 800-547-5514.
• Advantage Plan (Medical Mutual) — Eight options, including five with drug coverage. $0 to $90 per month. 800-613-2583.
• Advantra (Coventry Health Care) — Four options, including two with drug coverage. $0 to $34 per month. 800-711-1607.
• Aetna — Nine options, including six with drug coverage. $0 to $139 per month. 800-455-1560.
• Anthem — Five options, all with drug coverage. $0 to $49 per month. 866-803-5169.
• Cigna — Four options, including two with drug coverage. $40-$140 per month. 800-577-9409.
• Evercare (UnitedHealthcare) — Two options for people in nursing homes or with chronic or disabling conditions. Both include drug coverage. $0-$28 per month. 888-834-3721.
• The Health Plan — Six options, including three with drug coverage. $0-$95 per month. 877-236-2290.
• Humana — Six options, including five with drug coverage. $0-$118 per month. 800-833-2312.
• Kaiser Permanente — Six options, including three with drug coverage. $0-$129.90 per month. 800-551-5353.
• Primetime (AultCare) — One option; includes drug coverage. $59 per month. 800-577-5084.
• SecureHorizons (UnitedHealthcare) — Two options, including one with drug coverage. No monthly premium. 800-555-5757.
• SummaCare — Three options, all with drug coverage. $0-$175 per month. 888-464-8440.
• Team Care Advantage (Mennonite Mutual Aid Association) — Two options, one with drug coverage. $25-$36 per month. 800-348-7468.
