Retirement services for the Rev. and Mrs. Ronald Fowler will conclude on Sunday at Arlington Church of God, 539 S. Arlington St., Akron.
The Fowlers are being recognized for 42 years in ministry during two services at 8:15 and 11 a.m. The guest pastor for the earlier service is the Rev. Edward Foggs, a minister in the Church of God, based in Anderson, Ind. The Rev. Edward Massey, of Greensboro, Ala., will preach during the 11 a.m. service.
The Arlington Celebration Choir will sing. There will be receptions after each service.
The Rev. Fowler is retiring as senior pastor of the Akron church Jan. 1, after 38 years of service. As a community leader, he has frequently been called upon to assist in matters of racial harmony, both locally and nationally.
