HUDSON: Actors' Summit theater has announced that it will honor the performance portion of 2009 season subscription tickets purchased from the recently closed Carousel Dinner Theatre. On a show-by-show basis, Actors' Summit will admit Carousel patrons at no charge when they present a Carousel season ticket.''We are saddened by the demise of one of Northern Ohio's most beloved professional theaters,'' said Kathie Franks, Actors' Summit board president. ''We hope that we can soften the blow to Carousel's patrons by offering free tickets to holders of 2009 season tickets.''
Carousel ticket holders may call Actors' Summit at 330-342-0800 for reservations. Tickets for Carousel's Doo Wop will be honored at either Actors' Summit's Russians in Love or Year of Magical Thinking; tickets for My Fair Lady will be honored at either Year of Magical Thinking or Spoon River Anthology; and tickets for The Full Monty will be honored at either Tremont or Laughter in Three Languages. Tickets for High School Musical, The Producers and It's a Wonderful Life will be honored at Actors' Summit's summer and fall productions, which have yet to be announced.
''As the only other year-round Equity professional theater in Summit County, we feel a responsibility to support Carousel's loyal season subscribers,'' said MaryJo Alexander, Actors' Summit co-artistic director.

This is good publicty for Actor's Summit, but it is no substitution. Season Ticket Patrons paid in good faith and should be reimbursed their money. Actor's Summit offers good drama, but it is not the "entertainment package" that Carousel provided.
Forward thinking by Actor's Summit to try to gain new patrons. I know they are not doing too well either, so it helps to try to draw a new audience any time you see an opportunity. And its good theatre too.
why not do something for the kids that worked there?
Yes, come to Hudson, get in our jurisdiction, so our Police can hassle you and raise money for our coffers! We take credit cards.
Being a Carousel season subscriber, I'm just glad that I'll be able to see some kind of entertainment this next year and not actually loose my money. It would be nice if Weathervane helped out as well, since they do some musicals. I'm looking forward to going to Actors Summit in Hudson. It will be a new experience.
Great move by Actors Summit.
