RELIGION NOTES
Love Akron to honor founders

Revs. Fowler, Larson to lead morning prayer before ticketed luncheon

By Colette M. Jenkins
Beacon Journal religion writer

A special time of appreciation for the Revs. Ronald Fowler and Knute Larson is planned during the quarterly Love Akron prayer gathering at 9:30 a.m. March 11 at Akron Baptist Temple, 2324 Manchester Road.

Larson, who will retire as senior pastor of The Chapel on May 17, and Fowler, who retired as senior pastor of Arlington Church of God on Jan. 1, will lead the group of pastors and church leaders in prayer from 9:30 to 11 a.m. A luncheon will begin immediately after the prayer time.

The two men, considered ''church fathers'' in the Greater Akron area, have modeled unity through their personal relationship. Their example has encouraged unity among churches and cultures in the community. They are co-founders of Love Akron, which unites pastors and church leaders in ministry to the community.

The luncheon is a ticketed event, restricted to 200 people. Reservations are required by Tuesday and can be secured by e-mailing loveakronef@gmail.com or calling 330-253-3711, ext. 8.
