Service to be held today at Cleveland cathedral

An ordination service for five new priests in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 1007 Superior Ave. E., Cleveland.

Two of the five are from Summit County and three are being assigned to parishes, in Akron, Coventry Township and Wooster. All are graduates of St. Mary Seminary in Wickliffe, and their assignments as priests will begin on June 9. They are:

• The Rev. Kevin E. Estabrook, a graduate of Madison High School, John Carroll University and Borromeo Seminary. He will celebrate his first Mass at 1 p.m. Sunday at Immaculate Conception Church in Madison. He will celebrate a 9:30 a.m. Mass June 7 at Holy Cross Church in Euclid, where he was a deacon. He will be as
signed as parochial vicar at St. Columbkille in Parma.

• The Rev. Matthew E. Pfeiffer, a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, John Carroll University and Borromeo Seminary. He will celebrate his first Mass at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Holy Family Church in Stow. He will celebrate an 11 a.m. Mass June 21 at St. Ladislas Church in Westlake, where he was a deacon. He will be assigned as parochial vicar at St. Sebastian in Akron.

• The Rev. Sean P. Ralph, a graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School in Chardon, John Carroll University and Borromeo Seminary. He will celebrate his first Mass at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Anselm Church in Chesterland. He will celebrate a 10:30 a.m. Mass June 7 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, where he was a deacon. He will be assigned parochial vicar at St. Mary of the Falls in Olmsted Falls.

• The Rev. Anthony Suso, a graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School in Chardon, John Carroll University and Borromeo Seminary. He will celebrate his first Mass at noon Sunday at Holy Angels Church in Chagrin Falls. He will celebrate a 10 a.m. Mass June 7 at St. Bernard Church in Akron, where he was a deacon. He will be assigned as parochial vicar at St. Francis de Sales in Coventry Township.

• The Rev. Christopher J. Trenta, a graduate of Firestone High School in Akron, the University of Notre Dame and John Carroll University. He will celebrate his first Mass at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Hilary Church in Fairlawn. He will celebrate an 11 a.m. Mass on May 31 at Holy Rosary Church in Cleveland, where he was a deacon. He will be assigned as parochial vicar at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wooster.

Receptions for the five new priests will be held after each Mass. Their ordinations bring the number of diocesan priests in the eight-county diocese to 395. An additional 119 religious order priests also serve the diocese, which includes Ashland, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit and Wayne counties.
