City clears last hurdle to construct pipeline from Chippewa Twp.

WADSWORTH: The city has struck a deal with Wayne County to settle concerns about a plan to tap into water from an area known as Rogues Hollow.
City Council voted Wednesday to establish the Chippewa Creek Well Reserve fund as stipulated by Wayne County commissioners before the county would grant an easement across property it owns for a waterline to be run to Wadsworth.
Wadsworth will set aside at least $100,000 in the fund to cover any potential complaints from Wayne County residents should their private water wells be affected by Wadsworth tapping into the Chippewa Creek aquifer.
The agreement also calls for a consortium of officials from Wadsworth, Wayne County, Chippewa Township, Doylestown and Medina County to monitor and manage groundwater resources in the aquifer area.
The agreement with Wayne County is the last of 32 such easements the city needed to construct a more than six-mile pipeline for water from Chippewa Township in Wayne County to the city.
Wadsworth signed an agreement with Barberton in 2001 under which Wadsworth can develop wells in the aquifer to take up to 1 million gallons of water daily from the site owned by Barberton in Rogues Hollow.
Wadsworth would pay Barberton a minimum of $50,000 a year to pump the water, which would be piped to Wadsworth.
Wadsworth consumes about 2.1 million gallons of water a day, and its current wells supply a maximum of 2.6 million gallons a day.
But by 2020, it is expected that the city will need 4 million gallons of water daily.

Wadsworth will pay the city of Barberton to use the water that belongs to Chippewa township residents. This is just not right! How would you feel if this was happening to your water supply?
This is happening to me, Wayne county cut a deal with Wadsworth over the water without ever even asking any of the residents how they felt. I would have like to have been invited to a meeting, or even sent a letter, but no. They can all burn in he!! for all I care, and Im sure they will.
