CANTON: Authorities said a suspect in the fatal shootings ofthree people outside a Ninth Street Southwest bar has been captured in New Mexico.
Canton police said Friday that Edward Martino III was arrested without incident by FBI agents at a train station in Albuquerque. Martino had been traveling alone on an Amtraktrain.
Police said 24-year-old Martino is a suspect in Wednesday's slayings of three people outside the White Crown Cafe. The shootings were preceded by an altercation inside the bar, police said.
On Thursday, the Stark County coroner's office identified two of the victims as cousins Jonathan Pierce, 32, of Canton, and DeAndre Ruffin, 22, of Massillon. Melissa Pinney, 31, of Canton, who was in a car at the scene, also was killed by the gunfire.
A teenager inside the car escaped without injury.
It was unclear when Martino would be extradited to Ohio.
There was no immediate information on whether charges had been filed against Martino.
