Adam Pittis has been named varsity basketball coach at Copley High School.
Pittis, 28, has been the basketball coach and a teacher at Harrison Central High School in Cadiz for the past two years. He replaces coach Scott Callaghan.
Upon school board approval, Pittis will teach in the special education department at Copley.
''We are extremely pleased that the process of finding our next basketball coach has brought Adam to us,'' Copley Athletic Director Dana Addis said in a prepared statement. ''He comes highly recommended from a large number of teachers and coaches whom I greatly respect. We feel as if we are bringing an outstanding teacher and person into our district.''

Scott Callaghan is a great teacher and a good basketball coach, here's hoping he gets to do both again soon.
