BATH TWP.: The Revere school district is in ''good'' financial shape.
District treasurer David Forrest offered this assessment in his executive summary of key operating funds for fiscal year 2009.
The school board this week approved final appropriations for the 2008-09 school year and temporary appropriations of $11 million for the next fiscal year.
Forrest said the district's general fund ended up ''stronger'' than what had been projected in the district's five-year forecast.
The actual revenues received were $29,813,323 — some $300,000 more than forecast — while expenditures totaled $29,529,311 — more than $1 million less than estimated.
Forrest said this resulted in a ''positive swing'' of $1.4 million for the district.
Total expenditures from all funds were $37,804,790 against revenues of $37,767,769. The ending cash balance in the general fund was shy of $15 million.
Forrest said this means the district has a reserve that could carry it for five months.
The district's permanent improvement fund has a cash balance of $839,125 — after setting aside the funds for the stadium renovation and turf project.
The projected collection of $1.3 million in the next fiscal year would put the improvements fund balance at $2.1 million.
Forrest said future capital projects include a bus garage as well as a roofing project at Bath Elementary School.
