NORTON: Police say a Norton woman wanted on felony warrants may have evaded authorities at least one more night if only she hadn't spilled a milkshake inside her companion's car in a fast-food parking lot.
Instead, Jessica Thoma, 25, of Taylor Road, is in the Summit County Jail arrested on a warrant for a felony probation violation from Summit County Common Pleas Court.
Police say Thoma's undoing came Saturday morning when patrolman Bill Braman noticed a man and woman arguing in the parking lot of Arby's on Greenwich Road.
Braman said Thoma told him that she had ''spilled a milkshake in the car and her boyfriend became angry with her.''
As he was talking with Thoma, Braman said, Steven Krunich of Barberton walked toward him yelling.
''He said his girlfriend, Jessica Thoma, threw a milkshake inside his car and they began to argue,'' Braman said. ''He said that Jessica has warrants'' for her arrest.
Braman said Thoma initially gave officers a false name.
They then ran the name provided by Krunich and confirmed she was wanted by authorities in Mahoning and Summit counties.
A search of Thoma uncovered suspected crack cocaine, a suspected crack pipe and several prescription drugs.
Thoma made an appearance with her court-appointed attorney Wednesday before Barberton Municipal Judge David Fish on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of a drug abuse instrument, falsification, obstructing official business and misrepresenting her identification.
Thoma already is on probation through Summit County Common Pleas Court for possession of drugs.
Krunich, who was not charged, said Wednesday that he is not Thoma's boyfriend.
''She doesn't know what she's talking about,'' Krunich said. ''I don't know who she is.
''Maybe I'm somebody who knows everything that's going on in the world. Maybe I have ESP.''

Ok he told the police her name and that she had warrants for her arrest, but once they found drugs on her all of a sudden he didn't know who she was. Ok guy that's believable:)
i don't know she is but i was letting her drink a milkshake in my car - but my ESP didn't tell me she would spill it.
crackheads are not too smart....
Spilled milkshake brings all the boys to the lot,

does this make sense to anyone else?
She was involved in a little "run-in" with BARBERTON POLICE on August 21st and they didn't know this then to arrest her? Not at all surprised by the lack of enforcing by BPD. All they did was "charge" her it says:
Friday, Aug. 21
• Jessica L. Thoma, 26, of Akron, was charged with misrepresenting identity and driving under suspension after police said she was seen driving over the curb entering the Taco Bell drive through lane at about 2 a.m., yelling at an employee through the monitor and backing out, again going over the curb. According to police, Thoma said she had been drinking and gave a false name and birth date. Thoma was also wanted a Summit County felony warrant, police said.
Is she from Wadsworth? I went to school with a girl with this name but she wasn't into drugs or anything.
i think this guy sounds legit.
Hint: If you are already on probation, don't spill milkshakes.
Or, don't cry over spilled milkshakes, it could have been beer. Ha Ha !!
They will just slap her little hands and turn her loose on the streets again ...
I went to high school with this guy...his parents owned the roller rink in our town. He's always been quite the spoiled little brat, and not very bright. This doesn't surprise me at all.
Steven may not be her boyfriend now, but he was six months ago when she was trying to stay sober.
Hey ?, It is a song about that Urban is referring to
OK Tampat07, I'll have to google on it so I can laugh too!
Thankx :)
To anyone who is reading this article, this woman is not the same Jessica Thoma that went to Wadsworth High School. That is me!! I got married 2 years ago and my name is now Jessica Leedy. I did not turn into a crazy druggie law-breaker! I can't believe there is someone with my name that's ruining my reputation, lol
@class of 73,,I dont believe they will slap her wrists at all..she will be put into drug court.where she will have to go to classes from 9a.m. to 11a.m. then one in the afternoon, then one on the weeknights mon.thru thursday from 6 p.m. to 9:30pm.but will have to find a job and report to her p.o.every week.and go to meetings twice a week.but this is all to help her.so they say .not make her nuts by doing all this !! no wonder people choose jail instead.they need to have a seperate jail like place to put the people abusing drugs. They dont deserve to be put in with convicted murderers and the like.this problem seriously needs to be looked at.
