Public health agencies throughout the region are offering free H1N1 influenza vaccines at several community clinics for people at risk of complications from the flu.
The Summit County Health District has scheduled 12 clinics at area schools this month:
-- Thursday: Twinsburg High School, 10084 Ravenna Road; and Springfield High School, 2966 Sanitarium Road.
-- Nov. 16: Revere High School, 3420 Everett Road; and Stow-Munroe Falls High School, 3227 E. Graham Road.
-- Nov. 18: Hudson High School, 2500 Hudson-Aurora Road; Manchester Middle School, 6075 Manchester Road.
-- Nov. 19: Green High School, 1474 Boettler Road; Nordonia High School, 8006 S. Bedford Road.
-- Nov. 23: Mogadore High School, 130 S Cleveland Ave.; Sill Middle School, 1910 Searl St., Cuyahoga Falls.
-- Nov. 24: Norton High School, 4108 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road; Woodridge High School, 4451 Quick Road.
All clinics will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Individuals should not arrive before 3 p.m. to allow students to clear the building.
The vaccines are limited to people in high-risk groups, including pregnant women, people who live with or care for babies younger than 6 months, all people 6 months to 24 years, people 25 to 64 with chronic medical conditions and medical and emergency workers.

In Medina County, the health department is offering vaccines to children 6 through 35 months.
The clinic, from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 17, will take place at the county Health Department, 4800 Ledgewood Drive, Medina Township.
Seasonal flu shots won't be available at the clinic.
Parents should bring a completed consent form for each child receiving the vaccine. The forms are available at http://www.medinahealth.org.
During the clinic, medical staff will determine whether children will receive the injectable or the spray form of the vaccine.
The nasal spray is approved for healthy people ages 2 to 49 who aren't pregnant and don't have chronic illnesses.

The vaccine is limited to the high-risk groups as defined by Summit County.

In Wayne County, free vaccine will be given from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the former IGA building (across from the health department) at 146 W. South St., Wooster.
