Akron robbery suspect arrested

Officers with the U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force have arrested a man suspected of robbing an Akron homeowner.

Shaun Michael Hargett, 34, of South Firestone Boulevard, was taken into custody about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Merton Avenue. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.

According to a report from Akron police, a 67-year-old man came home for lunch and found Hargett inside his South Firestone Boulevard home.

When confronted, Hargett lunged at the man with a knife before fleeing.

Hargett is accused of forcing open a side door to get inside.

He is charged with robbery and burglary.
