A 15-year-old has been charged with attempted murder and felonious assault, accused of shooting a 22-year-old during a fight at a party about 12 a.m. Saturday in Green.
Another 15-year-old has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
Summit County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired on East Comet Road. When deputies arrived, they found the victim shot in the leg and abdomen.
According to a preliminary investigation, the 22-year-old got into a verbal altercation with a 15-year-old at the party and a fight followed. The teen is accused of pulling out a .45-caliber handgun and firing four rounds.
Another 15-year-old is accused of brandishing a handgun. The teens then fled, according to a news release.
Authorities did not release the names of the suspects.
Green firefighters and EMS responded and took the victim to Summa Akron City Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Authorities used search warrants to recover two handguns believed to be related to the shooting. One of the 15-year-old suspects was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and was arrested at his residence.
A parent later took the 15-year-old who is charged with attempted murder and felonious assault to sheriff’s officials.
