3 Akron teens arrested in sub shop break-in

Beacon Journal staff report

Three teens, all under age 16, are accused of breaking inside an Akron sub shop early Saturday morning.

The boys, two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old, were arrested outside Hanini Subs, 1318 Copley Road, shortly after 1 a.m. The boys were being held in the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of breaking and entering and violating curfew.

Police found the boys after responding to an alarm coming from inside the shop. Two teen were found in an alley behind the business; the third was arrested when he returned to the shop shortly afterward.

Police say nothing was taken during the break-in. The teens used a rock to break a window to get inside, according to the incident report.
