3 boys charged with tossing debris onto Cuyahoga Falls highway from bridge

Beacon Journal staff report

Two 11-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy were arrested after Cuyahoga Falls police say they tossed a slab of concrete onto a car near Howe Avenue.

The boys were arrested Saturday night after a car was struck with a 50-pound slab of concrete. The driver was not injured. The vehicle sustained minor damage to its hood.

Officers first received a call about 8 p.m. when motorists saw debris falling from a railroad crossing over Howe Avenue near state Route 8. Police said they found several small wooden logs and chunks of concrete in the roadway.

Officers surveyed the area and found the boys riding bicycles. The boys were questioned and police said they admitted throwing items from the bridge.

The boys are charged with misdemeanor delinquency counts of vehicular vandalism, criminal damaging and criminal trespassing.
