3 charged in Akron robbery

Beacon Journal staff report

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the robbery of three men on Paris Avenue in Akron.

Jermaine Johnson, 21, Justice Higgins, 18, and a 17-year-old boy, all of Akron, were taken into custody Sunday morning on aggravated robbery charges.

Akron police say three men leaving a party at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday were robbed at gunpoint of their money, wallets and cell phones. The robbers also took the victims’ car.

Patrol officers eventually found the vehicle in the 2000 block of Windsor Street. They later served a search warrant in the 600 block of Excelsior Avenue and officers arrested the three suspects.

Police do not believe the three suspects are responsible for another robbery earlier Sunday morning on Allyn Street.
