An Akron man convicted of raping a young girl has been sentenced to life in prison.
Brolin Payne, 40, will not be eligible for parole until he has served 25 years of his sentence handed down Wednesday.
A Summit County jury in July convicted Payne of rape and gross sexual imposition for offenses committed against an 8-year-old girl.
Visiting Judge Richard D. Reinbold Jr. also ordered Payne, if he is released from prison, to register his address for the rest of his life.
