Akron driver shot by another motorist ID’d

Akron police are investigating the shooting death of man who was attacked while in his car this morning.

Alfonso Golden, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene of a gunshot wound to the head. An autopsy is being conducted at the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police say Golden was found shot to death about 8:30 a.m. inside a 2005 Dodge Magnum that was stopped in the 400 block of East Waterloo Road. He was driving west of East Waterloo when another driver inside a tan-colored SUV pulled up next to him and fired a number of shots, police said.

The SUV driver then continued westbound. He has not been identified.
