An Akron resident awoke to find a drunken stranger sitting at his kitchen table early Sunday, police said.

The intruder, Rodney A. Jones, 37, of Bettes Avenue in Akron, was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary and disorderly conduct.

The resident said he was awakened about 4:30 a.m. Sunday inside his Yorkshire Drive home. When he walked into the kitchen, he said he found the door open and a man sitting at the kitchen table.

The resident woke up his family and left the house to call police. The stranger was still inside when officers arrived.

Jones was being held in Summit County Jail.
