An Akron man is accused of breaking into a home early Thursday and then falling asleep in the resident’s bed.
Jacob Parker, 22, is being held in the Summit County Jail on burglary and resisting arrest charges.
According to Cuyahoga Falls police, the homeowner called 911 at about 4 a.m. after seeing Parker forcing his way into the house in the 3100 block of Akron-Peninsula Road.
Officers went inside the house and found Parker asleep in a bed. As officers attempted to arrest Parker, he awoke and started fighting, police said. The officers then used a Taser gun to subdue the suspect. The homeowner told police he did not know Parker.
Outside the residence, police found a 2001 Mercury Cougar belonging to Parker’s girlfriend. Officers went to the woman’s Timber Top apartment and found her unresponsive due to alcohol use, police said. She was treated by Falls paramedics.
