An Akron man has been convicted of killing his girlfriend’s brother.
A Summit County jury on Tuesday deliberated less than an hour before convicting Terrence O. Minor Jr., 29, of aggravated murder, prosecutors said. He will be sentenced March 7 by Common Pleas Judge Tom Teodosio.
Minor was convicted in the Sept. 18 shooting death of Demetrion Wilson, 20.
Prosecutors say Minor drove to Day Street in Akron, intending to fight his girlfriend’s brother. When Minor arrived, he fired a gun over the roof of his car and struck Wilson in the chest. Wilson died later at a local hospital.
Minor was arrested days later in Cleveland. He faces a mandatory life sentence with parole eligibility.
He previously pleaded guilty to an illegal weapons charge.
