Beacon Journal staff report

An Akron man out taking a Sunday afternoon walk was punched and robbed of his wallet, police said.

The man, 43, was walking about 4:30 p.m. at Crosby and Bittman streets when another man approached and asked: “What you got?”

The victim tried to run, but his path was blocked by a large blue pickup truck. The robber caught the man and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The robber took the man’s wallet, which contained $95 and his identification cards before fleeing to the pickup and riding off with an accomplice.
