An Akron man was shot in the leg Sunday night after telling a robber he had no cash to steal, police said.
The man, 32, was walking with a 26-year-old woman near his home at the intersection of East South and Allyn streets when he was shot about 9:30 p.m. He was treated at Summa Akron City Hospital.
The man told police that two teens approached him and his friend and demanded money. When the man said he didn’t have any money, one of the teens shot the victim in the leg. Both teens then fled.
Police say the robbers are two black males, ages 13 to 15. One suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans; the other suspect wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
