Akron man shot outside his home

Beacon Journal staff report

An Akron man was shot twice after pulling his car into his home’s driveway early Wednesday morning.

The victim, 39, was being treated at Akron General Medical Center for nonlife-threatening injuries, police said. No suspect has been identified.

The man told police he returned to his Frederick Boulevard home at about 3 a.m. when another car pulled in from behind. Someone inside the car, which held a man and a woman, fired several shots into the victim’s 2001 Ford Taurus before fleeing.

The victim was struck in the leg and suffered a graze wound to his neck, police said. He could not provide a detailed description of the suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call Akron police at 330-375-2490. Anonymous tips may be left via the Internet at http://akronohio.gov/asp/tip.html.
